Abstract: ABSTRACT. Checklist of Sarcophagidae (Insecta, Diptera) from Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil. Sarcophagidae (Insecta, Diptera) is the second largest family of calyptrate fl ies of the superfamily Oestroidea in species richness. Their females are larviparous and larvae have diverse habits, especially saprophagous/necrophagous. “…There are about 35 species of this genus worldwide, most of them recorded from Neotropical Region (PaPe 1996). Helicobia aurescens is the third species of this genus recorded from Mato Grosso do Sul, in addition to H. morionella and H. pilifera (Mello-Patiu et al 2017). Species of this genus are recognized by their small size, large bristles mainly on thorax, ocellar and vertical bristles very strong, reclinate orbital bristles in both sexes, parafacial bristled, wing with vein R 1 setose and third costal sector bare, and male mid femur without ctenidium (PaPe 1996).…”
