Abstract: Fruit flies are among the main groups of phytophagous insects. Their larvae, when feeding on the pulp or seeds of the host fruits, can cause rot and favor the entrance of pathogens. Thus, the objectives of this study was: (1) To know the trophic associations between species of parasitoids and fruit flies in the Parque Nacional da Serra da Bodoquena (PNSB)-MS, Brazil. (2) To inventory the parasitoid species associated with fruit flies in fruit trees in the Parque Nacional da Serra da Bodoquena. Monthly expediti… Show more

“…Native species represent a genetic heritage of great value and potential for economic and ecological expression, such as the Eugenia myrcianthes Nied (Myrtaceae), a deciduous tree species popularly known as "Pessegueiro-do-mato", whose fruits and leaves have antibacterial activity (Dexheimer and Pozzobon 2017). In addition, its fruits show food potential, in natura or processed, as sweets, liqueurs, and jams (Santos et al 2014), and are attractive to wild birds (Almeida et al 2019).…”

“…They can develop inside host species during their larval stage, resulting in the death of their hosts. These parasitoids can parasitize and colonize a wide diversity of fruit fly species; therefore, identification of their hosts is critical to understand the biodiversity of parasitized fruit flies and the life cycle of their parasitoids, supporting the development of new tools for their management and control (Araújo et al, 2014; Almeida et al, 2019; Bomfim et al, 2007; Chan‐Canché et al, 2020; Souza et al, 2022).…”
