Abstract: Ninety days study was conducted in hapas installed in earthen ponds. Fish of an average initial weight (220g) were evenly distributed in triplicate groups within fifteen hapas. Five experimental diets labeled as T1 (25% CP and NRC recommended amino acid level) as control diet, T2 (with 2% low protein and 5% amino acid supplementation), T3 (with 2% low protein and 10% amino acid supplementation), T4 (with 4% low protein and 10% amino acid supplementation) and T5 (with 4% low protein and 20% amino acid supplemen… Show more

“…In our results, T4 treatment groups showed the higher Crude protein (28.66±0.24%) as compared to other treatments by comparing with [27]. These results also evidenced that dietry protein level in the fish body can be enahnced by increasing protein level of aquafeed [17,31,32]. Aquafeed with highest lipid content showed the most elevated crude lipids in the fish body [33].…”

“…For better growth of aquaculture it is necessary to sustain the means of feed and fertilizers [16]. Dietary protein is essential for suitable working, growth and make over of different body protein [17, 18]. However, fats and carbohydrates are also necessary for fish energy utilization and these also help to improve consumption of dietary protein [19, 20].…”

“…Balanced fish diet has a great effect on fish growth and feed utilization. Full understanding is required for fish requirements of lipid and protein in diet formulated for better growth performance of commercially available fish species (Mahmud et al, 2012;Ayub et al, 2021). Fish diet may be supplementary or complete.…”

“…Various physicochemical parameters and other growth parameters affect fish protein requirement in the fish diet (Cowey, 1976;Hassan et al, 2021). Protein is the major source of non-essential and essential amino acids required by fish for optimal performance, protein synthesis and energy maintenance (Kim et al, 2002: Ayub et al, 2021. Increase in crude protein level in the fish diet also increases fish body composition, feed utilization, and ultimately fish growth performance (Koprucu, 2012).…”
