Objectives: to validate and apply a change-of-shift instrument using the SBAR (Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendation) tool. Methods: methodological study for the validation of an instrument. It was validated by ten judges from the area of nursing teaching and care and applied in a surgical gastroenterology ward by 11 nursing technicians in February 2019. The analyses considered descriptive statistics. Results: the judges analyzed the instrument with a content validity index of 91.7% and made suggestions, which led to the second version of the instrument. The participants reported that the predominant modality of shift handover is oral, in the nursing room, lasting six to ten minutes. Most pay attention during shift change, mention that delays and early departures interfere in the activity and believe that the instrument provides the necessary information and is viable. Conclusions: the instrument built was validated, and its application proved relevant, as it was considered necessary and feasible.

To assess the prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress symptoms in health professionals in the COVID-19 pandemic context. Method: Cross-sectional study with non-probabilistic (snow-ball) sampling method. The assessment was performed using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the prevalence of symptoms severity was calculated by point and 95% confidence interval. The analysis of the psychometric properties of DASS-21 was performed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and the following goodness of fit indices: χ2/df (chi-square ratio by degrees of freedom), Tucker–Lewis index (TLI), comparative fit index (CFI) and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) with a 90% confidence interval. Results: The study participants were 529 health professionals (82.4% women and 66.7% nursing professionals). CFA of the DASS-21 structural model presented adequate fit for the sample (χ2/df = 3.530; CFI = 0.979; TLI = 0.976; RMSEA = 0.069). Regarding prevalence, moderate to extremely severe symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress were found in 48.6%, 55.0% and 47.9% of the participants, respectively. Conclusion: The use of DASS-21 confirmed the validity and reliability of the data. The prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress symptoms in the participants indicated a high risk of mental illness in health professionals in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conflitos de interesse: nada a declarar.Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, con enfoque cuantitativo. La investigación fue llevada a cabo en los meses de abril y mayo de 2020 en una ciudad con una cobertura del 100 % de la Atención Básica. Se invitó a todos los enfermeros registrados (140) y que trabajan en la ESF del municipio.Resultados: Se analizaron las respuestas de 39 enfermeros, entre 29 y 50 años, mayoría de mujeres, que trabajan hace más de 10 años en la Estrategia Salud de la Familia de un municipio del norte del estado de Minas Gerais. La mayor parte de los enfermeros informó que conocía las tecnologías que el Ministerio de Salud pone a disposición, pero 25 (64,1 %) no conocen la aplicación DigiSUS.
