= 1,82; IC 95% = 1,30-2,55; p < 0,001) associaram-… Show more

“…Regarding the global functioning of older adults, changes in mobility and cognitive decline also did not show a significant association with self-assessment of health status and satisfaction with regular/bad life, thus differing from other studies with older adults in general (11,(27)(28)(29) . It is noteworthy that the sample under study has particularities compared to older adults in the community in general, because they are visited by health professionals at home and have differentiated access to health services, which may have had some impact on the findings.…”

“…The absence of religious practice was associated with mortality. Studies that addressed factors associated with mortality in community-dwelling elderly (4,24,26,29) did not investigate the variable "religious practice. " A longitudinal survey on religiosity and longevity conducted in Taiwan with older adults (n = 3,849), over 18 years of follow-up, showed, using a Gompertz regression, adjusted and unadjusted for covariates and mediating factors, that the risk of dying is lower for the religiously active compared with the non-religious, with a 60-year-old religiously active Taiwanese woman living one year longer than her non-religious counterpart (35) .…”

“…Our results support the fact that physical inactivity makes sarcopenia get worse. Ruiz et al [21] found association between mortality and low strength in elderly patients, agreeing that sarcopenia must be treated.…”

“…Soares et al [20] reported that a worse performance in hand press force and walking speed are associated with mortality risk. Ruiz et al [21] noticed sarcopenia as a condition that appears when the patient is unable or has a functional deficit. Sarcopenia may get worse when there are comorbidities, increasing the mortality associated to its cause.…”
