However, to the best of our knowledge, previous Mexican studies have explored the discontinuation of ART, but not the disengagement from HIV care itself (Gutiérrez-Gabriel et al, 2019; Pérez-Rodríguez et al, 2016; Pérez-Salgado et al, 2017). HIV care disengagement might occur before discontinuation of ART due to factors such as service provision or social barriers, as opposed to factors related to the medication itself.…”
