Abstract: In cereals, the transition from the vegetative stage to flowering is controlled in the main by the set of vernalization genes. Within these genes the most important role is played by VRN1, which encodes a MADS-box transcription factor, regulating the transition of shoot apical meristem to the reproductive phase. The level of vernalization requirement is strongly linked to the molecular structure of this gene. In this study we analyzed molecular mechanisms regulating the vernalization requirement in triticale o… Show more

“…For the last two decades the allelic composition of VRN-1 genes has been studied by molecular genetic tools. Gene-specific markers and functional markers were proposed to develop isogenic lines and to use them in the genetic analysis of the World Germplasm diversity of wheat, barley, rye, and triticale (Cockram et al 2009;Nowak et al 2014). Moreover, the markers linked to the loci of different target traits, which are involved in frost resistance, spike architecture, and the others (Sutka 2001;Deng et al 2015;Rizza et al 2016), could also be used to selected germplasm with these traits.…”

“…С использованием аллель-специфичных маркеров у тритикале были обнаружены доминантные аллели Vrn-A1a, Vrn-B1a, Vrn-B1b, Vrn-B1c (58,59), ранее выявленные у мягкой пшеницы (48,(60)(61)(62)(63).…”
