Abstract: Coffee crops play an important role in Brazilian agriculture, with a high level of social and economic participation resulting from the jobs created in the supply chain and from the income obtained by producers and the revenue generated for the country from coffee bean export. In coffee plant growth, leaves have a determinant role in higher production; therefore, the leaf count per plant provides relevant information to producers for adequate crop management, such as foliar fertilizer applications. “…The validation of the model that best explains the growth of U. mosambicensis was performed through the diagnostic analysis of the residues, where the studied residues were evaluated in relation to the fitted values, leverage points and influential (SILVA et al, 2019), lastly verified simulated envelopes method for residuals (LISKA et al, 2015).…”

“…The generalized hat matrix (H) is given by: and r where, are the diagonal elements of matrix H, is weight matrix. Assume that any observation that exceeds twice the average ( >2p/n or >3p/n) is remote enough from the rest of the data to be considered a leverage point (SILVA et al, 2019).…”

“…Count data can be conceptualized as representing how often a specific event occurs, resulting in nonnegative integer values (Kosma et al, 2019). In the biological sciences, count data are produced in a variety of experiments, such as the analysis of fungal colonies (Pereira et al, 2016), counting of weed species in a given area (Heap;Duke, 2017), and counting of the number of leaves per seedling (Silva et al, 2019).…”
