Abstract:Resumo Focando o período em que Clarice Lispector escreve crônicas na grande imprensa, este artigo busca desvelar o sentido da aura de “mistério” que a envolve, associando-o à construção de uma persona literária em conflito com sua reputação de grande escritora para, em seguida, entender como esse afastamento da representação mais canônica do escritor contribuiu para a conquista de certo tipo de autonomia na literatura que produziu em sua fase final.
