Daily Scheduling of Small Hydro Power Plants Dispatch With Modified Particles Swarm Optimization

Abstract: ABSTRACT. This paper presents a new approach for short-term hydro power scheduling of reservoirs using an algorithm-based Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO is a population-based algorithm designed to find good solutions to optimization problems, its characteristics have encouraged its adoption to tackle a variety of problems in different fields. In this paper the authors consider an optimization problem related to a daily scheduling of small hydro power dispatch. The goal is construct a feasible solution … Show more

“…The prime significance of IRES is its focus to energize and electrify remote rural areas promoted by hybrid systems. This helps to achieve sustainable development and improve the basic living environment of rural masse [16]- [17]. This paper presents IRES comprising biomass, large and micro-hydro plants, solar PV, solar thermal, waste to energy plant, wind farm, and geothermal altogether with their problem formulation and constraint handling mechanisms that take into account credible contingencies.…”

“…The plant-based HPF is also widely used in the context of short-term GS models, whether in purely hydro systems [11][12][13], hydrothermal systems [14][15][16][17][18], or hydrothermal systems interconnected with renewable sources such as solar and wind [14][15][16][17]. In [15], it PWL is obtained as a function of the turbined outflow and gross head through CH techniques.…”
