Abstract: Introduction: To provide information for cervical cancer screening and vaccination in Henan province, China, the distribution of human papillomavirus (HPV) was analyzed. Methods: The HPV genotypes were detected using gene array and flowthrough hybridization. Results: Overall, 38.1% (1,536/4,033) of the women were human papillomavirus deoxyribonucleic acid (HPV DNA) positive. The prevalence of high-risk HPV types was 32.4%. HPV 16 was the most prevalent genotype (8.9%), followed by HPV 52 (5.8%) and HPV 58 (4.4… Show more

“…In our study, cervical biopsy results, ECC results or both revealed CIN2+ lesions in 22% (70/322) of patients with HPV16 positivity, while this ratio was 8% (6/78) for patients with HPV18. In the ATHENA Study conducted by Wright et al, the baseline risk of CIN2+ disease in patients with HPV16 was between 20% and 25%, and it was between 10% and 15% in patients with HPV18 positivity. The baseline risk of CIN2+ disease in patients with HPV‐other positivity was 7.4% in the present study, while it was between 5‐10% in the mentioned study.…”

“…Among the patients with known HPV results, the most common HPV type was HPV‐other (including HPV types other than 16 and 18), which constituted 45% of the patients, followed by HPV16 (28%). Similarly, in a prevalence study, 27% of the patients with high‐risk HPV were found to have HPV16.…”

“…[13] A study conducted by Xiao et al [14] on HPV infections in patients with cervical precancerous lesions in the Beijing area demonstrated that the high-risk HPV infection rates are 38.1% and 32.4%, respectively, for CIN I and CIN II+ patients, and the most prevalent HPV subtypes for CIN I patients were HPV16, HPV58, HPV52, and HPV18. In contrast, the most prevalent ones for CIN II+ patients were HPV16, HPV58, HPV33, and HPV52.…”
