Abstract: In this study, single-crystal-like anatase TiO(2) nanowires were formed in a network structure by surfactant-assisted self-assembling processes at low temperature. The crystal lattice planes of the nanowires and networks of such wires composed of many nanoparticles were almost perfectly aligned with each other due to the "oriented attachment" mechanism, resulting in the high rate of electron transfer through the TiO(2) nanonetwork with single-crystal-like anatase nanowires. The direction of crystal growth of o… Show more

“…The degree and nature of the attachment process can be manipulated by surfactant control. Indeed, specific chemical transformation of the surfactant on high-energy facets may already play a role in some documented cases [43][44] . Banfield has shown that many defects in natural minerals may have arisen through the oriented attachment process 45 .…”

“…S TNP and S P25 were assumed to be 4³(r TNP ) 2 and 4³(r P25 ) 2 , respectively. Figure 6 shows the relationships between the amount of dye per unit volume in the film and S ep for closest packing calculated using Eq.…”

“…In an effort to eliminate this issue, one dimensional (1D) nanostructures (see Figure 3e) such as nanotubes,66, 67 nanowires,68 nanorods,69, 70 and nanofibers71 have been proposed. The use of single crystal anatase TiO 2 nanowires resulted in a photo conversion efficiency (PCE) of ca.…”
