“…The present study reports the formation of biologically active Ag-NPs synthesized by a cost effective and natural synthetic method from Coriander sativum extract containing macromolecules like lignin, glycosides, aldehydes and phenolic compounds with effective antimicrobial, antioxidant and anticancer abilities. Synthesis of nanoparticles following irradiation by sunlight; a free bioenergy resource with acceptable reduction times had been documented in previous studies ( Karimi Zarchi et al, 2011 ). The reduction of silver ions by the plant extracts is marked by the appearance of yellow–brown color solution reflecting the formation of Ag-NPs.…”

“…Reduction of silver ions was monitored by measuring the absorbance of the reaction mixture from 300 to 600 nm using UV-vis spectrophotometer (UV-2600, Shimadzu Corporation, Kyoto, Japan) to find the absorbance peak [10]. The mixture solution was centrifuged at 22,000 g for 30 min [57] and the produced pellets were washed three times with distilled water and dried in a freeze drier to remove excess silver ions.…”

“…Sunlight irradiation, a recently reported primary energy source for nanoparticle formation, has been observed to derive AgNPs with desired physical attributes. Recent studies on sunlight driven AgNP synthesis using Allium sativum (garlic extract) and Andrachnea chordifolia ethanol leaf extract revealed that sunlight rapidly enhanced nanoparticle formation to produce spherical AgNPs with average diameters of 7.3 nm and 3.4 nm, respectively [75,76]. In addition, this use of sunlight has also been used in AgNP synthesis from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens CFS to produce circular and triangular crystalline AgNPs with an average diameter of 14.6 nm [77].…”
