Mucosal Prolapse Syndrome MPS is a result of excessive straining or abnormal defecation. It is histopathologically characterized by fibromuscular obliteration and includes a solitary ulcer or a protruded lesion of the rectum.Intussusception is one of the causes of MPS, therefore, defecography is useful in the diagnosis. The present case was a 28-year-old man, who had rectal bleeding, frequent defecation, and mucous discharge. Multiple polyps were found in the rectum by colonoscopy, which were histopathologically diagnosed as MPS. Defecography showed intussusception of the rectum and a protruded lesion at the bottom of the intussusception. Laparoscopic rectopexy was performed, after which the clinical symptoms improved and the lesion of MPS in colonoscopy disappeared at 1 year after the operation.
