The objective of this study was to evaluate the changes in foreign students' satisfaction with the quality of dental and medical education considering the impact of the war in Ukraine. The present study was organized in the form of a questionnairebased survey among 300 foreign students of Medical Faculty and Faculty of Dentistry in Ukraine. The questionnaire was ad mistered via Google form in a multiple-choice, closed-ended format. Students' satisfaction with environment safety and comfort (p < 0.05) and with the collaborative learning offered (p < 0.05) statistically decreased during the war. Sixty percent of the variability in the mean of students' satisfaction with the quality of education during the war could be explained by the satisfaction rate before the war. The need of migration from Ukraine had a stronger inverse correlation with education quality (r = -0.58) than the fact of the war itself (r = -0.32). The war in Ukraine has had a negative impact on the educational process of foreign medical and dental students, even though the quality of education was considered by students to be as high as before and during the war. The personal effort of professors, the quality of study materials, and adequate technical support could potentially overcome the negative impact of the war on student satisfaction with the quality of medical and dental education by the online mode, if the academic medium could be protected from the direct impact of the war or if the influence of the war within the university community could be minimized.
The article brings up an important and relevant subject of modernizing the educational process by involving the latest technologies, which enables to make the process of learning a second language (in particular, Ukrainian) not only effective, but also dynamic and interesting. One of such ways of adapting to modern learning realities is to use the capabilities of the game-based learning platform LearningApps at Ukrainian as a second language classes. The author aims to characterize the game-based learning platform LearningApps as an auxiliary tool for the formation of Ukrainian lexical competence of students. Research results confirm that LearningApps is an excellent aid for the formation of lexical competence, usually at the stage of semanticizing (revealing meanings of) new words or, to a certain extent, at the stage of automating new lexical units. The LearningApps platform has various task options to help get students interested Педагогiка in learning new words. For instance, one can match a Ukrainian word with a translation or an image; group lexemes according to certain content or grammatical categories; choose the correct answer to a question; restore the sequence of events in the text, etc. In total, the program provides 21 templates for creating tasks. The article gives examples of corresponding tasks for the formation of lexical competence and analyses the ways of using them at Ukrainian as a second language classes. The author points out that the tasks created on the LearningApps platform are convenient for multiple repetition and practice, which helps to better remember new words and their meanings, to master their spelling or usage peculiarities. The article concludes that such tasks have a number of advantages for both teachers and students. For the former, the tasks provide an opportunity to present language material more interestingly and vividly, as well as to save time for training exercises in favour of communicative ones. For students, online tasks allow to learn the language in a comfortable environment; provide the opportunity to choose one's own pace and time of study; help practice lexical skills for more correct subsequent use of words in speech; help systematize the material and improve performance. However, it is noted that the positive effect of using such tasks may disappear over time, when students lose interest in the new technology, which becomes a learning tool.
