In the industrial pig farm for 26 thousand heads, the analysis of the influence of a forage factor on bacteria carriers of a uterine pig population in connection with mass morbidity of dairy piglets on anaerobic enterotoxemia is carried out. Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, Pasteurella multocida, Clostridium perfringens, Neisseria spp., Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger which are able to form biofilms, were isolated from five samples of “SK-1” compound feed for pregnant sows and from the blood of animals (n=20) fed with this compound feed. The structural basis of the most stable biofilms in vitro were the aerobic fungi Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. Biofilm-forming variants of these bacteria showed multidrug resistance to 30 antimicrobial drugs (synthetic penicillins, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, combination drugs). Isolates of associative microflora isolated from the blood of sows were pathogenic for 30% of laboratory mice. It was found that probiotic agent No1 (composition based on Bischofite with probiotics) showed the universal bactericidal activity against the bacteria Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, Pasteurella multocida, Clostridium perfringens, Neisseria spp.
In modern animal husbandry of Ukraine, there are still some unresolved issues related to the high number of zoophilic flies in the territories of facilities and the spread of animal infectious and parasitic diseases. A detailed study of bioecological peculiarities of the dominant zoophilic fly species contributes to improving the effectiveness of measures to control ectoparasites. 27 zoophilic fly species have been found in animal breeding complexes. The maximum number of parasitic Diptera species was recorded on cattle-keeping premises. The biological properties of Neomyia cornicina (Fabricius, 1781) (size, shape, colour, duration of preimaginal phase development) were studied. Also, we studied the dynamics of the number and daily activity of dominant fly species (Musca domestica Linnaeus, 1758, M. autumnalis De Geer, 1776, Stomoxys calcitrans (Linnaeus, 1758)). When studying the intraspecies competition, a high-degree survival of M. domestica and M. autumnalis was determined in the conditions of critical nutritional deficiency (0.5 g of nutrient medium per larva) and increased density of individuals (the imago emergence was 38.6% and 34.0%, respectively). In similar maintenance conditions, the emergence of N. cornicina imago was low (14.6%). With a two-fold increase in the insectarium volume and in the amount of nutrient medium (1 g per larva), the imago emergence of M. domestica, M. autumnalis and N. cornicina increased to 64.0%, 39.2%, and 24.0%, respectively. With an even greater increase in the amount of nutrient medium (2 g per larva), the maximum emergence of imagoes of all the studied fly species was observed (M. domestica, M. autumnalis, and N. cornicina: 96.6%, 91.2% and 72.6%, respectively). In the conditions of interspecific competition, M. autumnalis suppressed N. cornicina even in conditions of a sufficient amount of nutrient substrate. In the competition between M. domestica and M. autumnalis, house fly dominated. Increasing the nutrient medium volume narrowed the gap between the competing species.
People can become infected with zoonoses from domestic or stray dogs (the most dangerous ones are rabies, brucellosis, dermatomycosis, leptospirosis, parasitic diseases). 1,466 rabies outbreaks and 2 cases of human rabies were reported in Ukraine in 2018. In total, 17 people died of rabies in Ukraine in 2014-2018. Sources of rabies were nonvaccinated against rabies dogs. In most dermatomycosis patients, the zoonotic form of microsporia caused by Microsporum canis is recorded, and infected cats and dogs play an important role in the spread. Dogs are a dangerous reservoir of leptospira and a source of infection for humans. Develops a mild course of leptospirosis, reminiscent of influenza, but has severe consequences and leads to meningitis. Dogs can infect humans with the agents of campylobacteriosis and brucellosis, as well as many other parasitic diseases: Ancylostoma braziliense і Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis і Toxocara cati , Cryptosporidium , Echinococcus granulosus, Dirofilaria immitis , Giardia lamblia and ectoparasites: Sarcoptes scabiei (variant canis) and Cheyletiella yasguri. Prevention of zoonotic diseases requires a holistic approach within the framework of the One Health concept. Health, environmental and veterinary services, with the active involvement of local government, conservation and animal welfare organizations, must be involved. The problem of handling animals and regulating the numbers of stray animals in Sumy is an urgent one. The solution to this problem is to reduce the number of stray animals with only humane methods, to improve the epizootic and sanitary-ecological situation in the city, to create conditions for the prevention of the phenomenon of stray animals, and to change public opinion towards a civilized, humane, ethical attitude to animals. Principles of animal shelter organization, scheme of veterinary and sanitary measures and treatment and preventive treatment of animals have been developed and put into practice by us. Within the framework of the agreement with the communal enterprise of the Sumy City Council "Animal Care Center" Sumy National Agrarian University performs the veterinary part of the service of stray animals, which ensures the implementation of the "Program of regulation of the number of stray animals in the city of Sumy by humane methods".
