Palavras-chave: computação, educação básica, pensamento computacional, Brasil 1 CDTec/Computação, UFPel, Universidade Federal de Pelotas -Rua Gomes Carneiro, 1 -96010-610 -Pelotas, Rio Grande Do Sul, Brasil. 2
This paper describes the main results of proposal and application of an activity that introduces the basic concepts of algorithms, with the use of board game, for the fifth year students of public schools. By considering the methodology called Computational Thinking in qualifying such level of elementary school, specific skills of Computer Science are explored and applied in a playful manner, without computer use. The proposed educational activities aim increase the student interest by dealing with concepts such as algorithms and procedures, also including data abstraction and decomposition problems.
This paper describes the results of application of activity Caça ao Tesouro, approaching concepts of data search, developed in the ambit of Computational Thinking. The differential is the development of a digital game as instrument to execution of their tasks. It's presented the conception of this application and realized a comparison of the results of its application with the goals by the method classic using manufactured materials. The article documents the application results of the new conception of activity in terms of appropriation of the content and usability of the instrument.
Technological innovations have changed the profile of professionals required by economy sectors demanding skills related to problem solving and logical reasoning. Concurrently with this reality, Computational Thinking emerges as a methodology for solving problems, which is able to develop many of these skills. This article reports the experience in applying the activities referred as Binary Numbers, Color by Numbers, Sorting Algorithms and Battleships, which aims at developing some of necessary skills for the practice of Computational Thinking by fourth-graders. The article resumes the activities, and evaluates the obtained results.
Abstract. Computational thinking is a process for problem-solving that includes many skills required for IT professionals and that are also useful for everyday activities of other areas. This paper describes an activity designed for elementary school fifth grade students to develop some of these skills, particularly collection, representation and analysis of data. The Computer unplugged methodology was used, in which computing concepts are introduced to students through games and fun activities. Besides describing the methodology of the activity, this paper also describes the results of applying the activity to three classes of public schools in the city of Pelotas.
