Based on a preliminary survey, almost all street vendors around UNISBA believe that the processed products they sell are halal, even though the raw materials they use do not have halal certificates. This shows the lack of understanding and awareness of street vendors regarding the halal product. As one of the Islamic universities, Bandung Islamic University (UNISBA) is obliged to educate the general public and academic community about the importance of halal food. Therefore, socialization and training on halal awareness, halal guarantee system and halal certification are needed. The level of awareness of street vendors about the need to provide halal food was measured by distributing questionnaires before training and after training. The results of the training showed increased understanding and awareness of halal food. As a result, all trainees want to get a Halal Certificate. However, there are several obstacles in obtaining halal certificates, namely costs (68%), time (24%), and procedures (28%).
Manual packaging with awkward work postures has a high level of work risk with recommendations for improvement that should be done as soon as possible. Work risks that can be caused by awkward work posture are Musculoskeletal disorder (MSDs). Therefore, this study aims to improve the manual packaging work station by designing work tables and chairs based on an ergonomic approach so that it can improve work posture and reduce or even eliminate work risks. The research method used is a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of this study are the design of tables and chairs with sizes obtained from the results of anthropometric measurements of workers. The results of this study imply that workers can do their jobs with good work postures so that work risks can be minimized.
Cibaduyut is the center of the shoe industry in the city of Bandung, West Java Indonesia. Shoes that are produced here are mostly produced by small-scale industries scattered in Cibaduyut area. The process of making shoes that are made by small industries, still uses simple facilities and techniques, with no attention to the aspect of comfort, safety and occupational health. The work facilities used today causes inconvenience to employees in their work. The results of the survey (by distributing Discomfort Questionnairre), we obtained information stating that the workers complained on several problems concerning the body dimension during the work progress. From this illustration we can say that it is necessary to evaluate the working posture to minimize the risks arising from the work by methods RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment). The results obtained from Rula shows some works that are done are at the level 4, which means that this work belongs to high risk and needs to be improved immediately. Therefore we should provide the design facilities such as desk to work in pattern, sole, and finishing work station which are needed to improve posture. The size of product design tailored to the size of the body dimensions of workers with anthropometric methods. The design of the facility will improve the posture of workers in their work.
Workers can cause harm to the company caused by human error. Human error has a close relationship with the level of reliability of a worker. One result of the low level of reliability of workers is product defects. PT. X is a company that manufactures engine and molding spare parts and dies, using automatic machinery. There are defective products on production, with an average number of defects of 1.2% per month above the disability tolerance set by the company of 0.2%. The types of defects in the product are corrugated surfaces, rough surfaces, mismatched pieces, inaccurate sizes, and the presence of foreign matter attached to the product. This product defect occurs in the milling machine. This study aims to determine the level of operator reliability at the milling work station that affects production results. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using the Human Error Assessment and Reduction Technique (HEART) method to determine the level of operator reliability. The biggest HEP measurement results experienced by each operator is when the activity is set up and operating the machine by the program, which ranges from 0.7936 to 0.9104. The level of reliability (Rm) for operators 1, 2, 3 has a value of Rm in succession of 0.4350; 0.3627; 2005. Rm value <0.5 indicates the level of reliability which is categorized as low. This low level of reliability is caused by the absence of work procedure standards, lack of supervision of operator performance, low work morale, lack of operator experience, and no effective communication between the operator and programmer when inputting coding on the machine.
Abstract. CV X is a manufacturing company that produces water heaters, temperature controllers and control panels. Musculoskeletal disorders are disorders of the limbs that cause discomfort. The operator takes measurements on the floor during work. This causes the operator's working position with the back bent, legs folded and neck bent. The research method used is a quantitative method. The level of worker complaints is known by distributing the nordic body map (NBM) questionnaire, while to determine work risk the Ovako working posture analysis system (OWAS) method is used with the help of ergofellow software. The purpose of this study was to identify operator discomfort and work risk measurement at the measurement work station. The results of the questionnaire showed that the total pain assessment obtained at the work station measurement obtained the highest score. Based on the risk assessment using the OWAS method, measurement workers are at risk levels 3 and 4. This risk level indicates that the work posture of measurement workers needs to be corrected immediately because the work being done is too risky. The simulation results after designing work facilities, the results of the risk assessment get a score of 1, which means that the activities carried out by the operator when using the measurement table do not require corrective action. Keywords: Nordic Body Map (NBM), Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS), Anthropometry.
