A definição de violência obstétrica é qualquer ato físico ou psicológico que agrida a mulher nos atos de parto, pós-parto, nascimento ou gestação. Tendo em vista a fragilidade psicológica e as mudanças fisiológicas da mulher nesses períodos, fica evidente a importância da discussão do tema. Temos como objetivo central deste trabalho avaliar os índices e os principais tipos de violência obstétrica que ocorrem no perímetro nacional. Nossa metodologia se focou em uma revisão bibliográfica de associação temática simples dos artigos referenciados com o intuito de colher dados, informações e embasamento teórico a respeito do tema abordado, considerando o tema e as análises realizadas. Apresentamos como resultados das leituras a afirmativa de que os dados revelam que no Brasil há um alto índice de cesarianas (55,4% em 2016), a maioria fora de contexto, configurando violência obstétrica. Ao lermos sobre a história das infecções sexualmente transmissíveis (IST), ficamos perplexos e observamos o quanto essas doenças mudaram o comportamento sexual da humanidade. Existem vários agentes etiológicos de grupos taxonômicos distintos na extensa lista de IST's, de protozoários a bactérias e vírus.Dentre os agentes etiológicos que merecem atenção especial está o papilomavírus humano (HPV), causador da doença que recebe o mesmo nome, que é considerada a mais comum infecção do trato reprodutivo. A maioria das mulheres e homens sexualmente ativos, em algum momento de suas vidas, será infectada, podendo apresentar infecções recorrentes. O contato genital, pele a pele, é um modo de transmissão reconhecido. Existem muitos tipos de HPV e a maioria deles não causa problemas. Porém, o câncer do colo do útero é a doença mais frequentemente relacionada ao HPV.Quase todos os casos de câncer do colo do útero podem ser atribuídos à infecção pelo HPV. E certos tipos de HPV também provoca uma proporção de cânceres do ânus, vulva, vagina, pênis e orofaringe, que são evitáveis usando estratégias de prevenção primária semelhantes às do câncer de colo do útero.Outra IST que merece menção é a sífilis, causada pela bactéria Treponema pallidum, ainda é um problema mundial, estimando-se em 12 milhões o número de pessoas infectadas todos os anos, apesar de existirem medidas de prevenção eficazes como preservativos, e opções de tratamento eficazes e relativamente baratas. O problema se torna ainda maior pois, as mulheres grávidas infectadas podem transmitir a infecção ao feto, causando sífilis congénita, com consequências graves para a gravidez em 80% dos casos. Calcula-se que anualmente dois milhões de casos de gravidez são afetados; onde 25% destes casos resultam em natos-mortos ou abortos espontâneos, e outros 25% de recém-nascidos têm baixo peso à nascença ou infecção grave, estando os dois casos associados a um maior risco de morte perinatal.Mas nem uma outra IST é mais complexa e merece mais atenção do que a Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida -SIDA, que em inglês é mais conhecida como AIDS, causada pelo vírus da imunodeficiência humana (HIV). Ao ser descoberta na década de 1980, já foi rapidamente considerada como uma pandemia. De modo que, em 2015 um estudo realizado pela OMS, estimou que 17,8 milhões de mulheres com 15 ou mais anos de idade viviam com HIV ou seja 51% dos adultos que vivem com HIV. Em muitos países as mulheres que vivem com HIV não têm acesso equitativo a serviços de saúde de qualidade e também devem enfrentar diversas formas de estigma e discriminação. Além disso, as mulheres vivendo com HIV são muito mais vulneráveis à violência, incluindo a violação dos seus direitos sexuais e reprodutivos.No país que promove a liberdade sexual, mas não investe em campanhas educativas e não compra penicilina, a missão de transmitir as informações necessárias fica nas mãos daqueles que estudam estas infecções.
