Two hundred and forty -seven adults (including 21 persons aged 16 to 20) were also surveyed, 70% of whom harbored Ascaris (Table No.4). This group included only eight farmers. The others were office workers, shop keepers, skilled laborers and professional people including one doctor and one nurse. One hundred and four were housewives. No significant difference in incidence in different age groups of children was noted (Table No. 5). The number of adults examined was too small to treat statistically but a group of seventy persons between the ages of 31 and 40 had an incidence of 77%. Apparently the incidence does not decrease very rapidly with age in these communities.
