This investigation aimed to study exhibition of patients on Facebook promoted by doctors and dentists. Data were gathered between the months of August and September 2013, through retrospectively selecting 39 images that had been published by 17 professionals. In these images, it was possible to identify situations of breach of confidentiality and/or privacy. The principle of respect for individuals' privacy and confidentiality forms part of the main international documents relating to the field of ethics. Both the State and professional bodies have an obligation to protect victims from exhibition of images that compromise the inalienable right to privacy. This study emphasizes that such exposure has negative consequences for patients, healthcare professions and society. It is recommended that this issue should be addressed by all teachers across their institution, with discussions stimulated and guided by the disciplines of Bioethics.
This article highlights the process of construction, maturation and consolidation of a bioethics of intervention (BI) as a liberating bioethical proposal. Toward that end, it considers the main indicator of that characteristic to be its anti-systemic perspective, as manifested by its manifest political option and by epistemic insurgence against the epistemological domination of the bioethical knowledge produced in the countries located in the center of the capitalist world system. Because of its Latin American trademark, its ideological profile and its influence in the field of knowledge of bioethics, BI is presented as one of the most important theories of contemporary Latin American thinking, and is seen as the main novelty after the theory of dependence , the theory of the oppressed, the theology of liberation and the coloniality of power. Keywords: Bioethics. Politics. Human rights. Latin America.
Poder. Vulnerabilidad social. Salud pública. Abstract The intervention bioethics in decolonial contextsThe present study aims to show the alignment of bioethics of intervention with decolonial proposals, understood as criticisms and alternatives to the coloniality logic's operation mode. The bond of the refereed bioethics proposal with the criticisms towards the colonial power pattern is through the proposition of the inexorable link with the most vulnerable part of society. For the defense of the group that is most affected by the vulnerability, it is suggested that the axes such as criticism, dialogue, relations with the State must be reviewed from the perspective of the most vulnerable ones and not just for those most vulnerable. In this context, the perception of intersectionality vulnerabilities is essential.
