Este trabalho objetiva propor reflexões a respeito dos rumos da Educação Popular diante dos desafios contemporâneos, apresentando a realidade do Movimento de Luta por Moradia (MLM) em Salvador desde a sua origem, utilizando uma “cartografia das memórias” construída pelos protagonistas iniciais de uma historicidade de reivindicações e resistência até o entendimento do conceito de Educação Popular circulante nesse importante Movimento Social. Analisa os discursos dos sujeitos da pesquisa como forma de revelar inúmeras as carências que se estabelecem na dinâmica de luta dos Sem-teto por moradia digna e que se incorporam às suas lutas, constituindo elementos dos seus pensamentos e práticas. Revelou-se a importância de ampliar o conceito de Educação Popular para uma Educação Popular Voluntária baseada em contribuições individuais de sujeitos movidos pelo “espírito voluntário” a se somarem às outras práticas educativas tradicionais, tendo sido proposto, para este fim, o eduKit, na forma de uma plataforma virtual colaborativa.Palavras-chave: Educação Popular Voluntária. Este estudo de abordagem qualitativa foi realizado no contexto do Subúrbio Ferroviário de Salvador/Bahia. O objetivo foi investigar como as representações sociais de jovens periféricos, construídas sobre o futuro, contribuem com imagens que orientem práticas socioeducativas. Apoiado nas ideias de Moscovici (1978); Jodelet (2001); Durand (1995; 2011; 2002) e Corbin (1995) entendemos que os constructos do imaginário como “matéria imaginada”, emergem elementos representacionais que implicam nas práticas sociais cotidianas exercidas nos espaços vividos. Aplicamos entrevista semiestrutura e o protocolo AT-9 aos três jovens do Centro Cultural de Plataforma, e analisamos os dados pelos preceitos do Modelo da Estratégia Argumentativa. Os resultados revelaram imagens de possibilidades e expectativas de futuro, cuja consciência da realidade social se faz presente, nas práticas socioeducativas.
