Durch Oxydation des Veratrum-Ester-Alkaloids Cevadin, C3,H4@9N, mit Chromsaure entsteht eine Verbindung C3&410,N, in der auf Grund ihrer UV.und 1R.-Absorptionsspektren sowie ihres chemischen Verhaltens eine 7-Oxy-indanon-(l)-Teilstruktur (VII) vorliegt.
