El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar el nivel de relación que existe entre el impuesto a la renta y la rentabilidad en el sector minero peruano del 2017 al 2021. Se realizó un estudio no experimental retrospectivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo y un alcance descriptivo-correlacional. Se aplicó la técnica documental. Los resultados mostraron que existe relación entre las variables con un p valor <0.01, o sea, a mayor rentabilidad, mayor pago del IR. Además, se determinó el nivel de relación entre los pagos a cuenta y la rentabilidad de acuerdo al ROI (rho=0.26), RA (rho=0.344), ROE (rho=0.608) y el ROIC (rho=0.698). De las cuales, la rentabilidad financiera (ROE y ROIC) mostró un nivel de relación alta mientras que en la rentabilidad económica (ROI y RA) un nivel de relación baja. De la misma manera, se determinó el nivel de relación entre el pago del IR anual y la rentabilidad con el ROI (rho=0.391), RA (rho=0.424), ROE (rho=0.609) y ROIC (rho=0.666). En donde, la rentabilidad económica (ROI y RA) mostró un nivel de relación baja, sin embargo, la rentabilidad financiera (ROE y ROIC) presentó un nivel de relación alta. Se concluye que existe relación entre el impuesto a la renta y rentabilidad.
