Este artigo é um recorte de uma pesquisa qualitativa conduzida em uma Escola Família Agrícola, localizada na Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais. O seu principal objetivo foi compreender como 24 alunos dessa escola lidam com os conceitos geométricos quando estão em ambientes distintos: escola/família/comunidade. Essa pesquisa foi conduzida de acordo com as perspectivas da Pedagogia da Alternância e da Etnomatemática, visando responder a questão de investigação: Quais são as contribuições que a etnomatemática pode trazer para a construção do conhecimento geométrico de alunos do primeiro ano do ensino médio em uma escola família agrícola na perspectiva da pedagogia da alternância? Essa pesquisa fundamenta-se nas bases teóricas da Pedagogia da Alternância, da Educação do Campo, dos Fundos de Conhecimento e da Etnomatemática. Os dados foram coletados por meio de dois questionários: um inicial e um final; anotações no diário de campo, três blocos de atividades, um grupo focal e, também, pela utilização de três instrumentos da alternância: o Plano de Estudo, o Caderno da Realidade e a Colocação em Comum. Os dados coletados foram analisados conforme os pressupostos adaptados da Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. Os resultados dessa pesquisa mostram que uma contribuição importante da Etnomatemática para o desenvolvimento de conteúdos geométricos nessa escola, na perspectiva da Pedagogia da Alternância, foi a valorização sociocultural da produção de conhecimentos geométricos desenvolvidos por esses participantes, que compartilharam as práticas locais em sala de aula conectando-as aos conteúdos geométricos escolares.
