O artigo aborda o questionamento de valores culturais na agricultura familiar e, especificamente, coloca em relevo as diversas representações que vêm sendo construídas por jovens e mulheres em torno da noção de casamento. Para discutir o significado, a importância e as redefinições em curso na categoria casamento, resgatam-se alguns depoimentos feitos por filhas/os de agricultores familiares no âmbito da minha pesquisa de doutorado realizada na região Oeste de Santa Catarina. A partir da análise das representações e das iniciativas da juventude rural, visualiza-se a emergência de conflitos no horizonte das escolhas dos modelos de família e casamento, processo que repercute nos projetos de vida formulados por moças e rapazes e que acarreta um viés de gênero no movimento migratório de jovens.
Resumo: É crescente a migração dos jovens do meio rural e a ausência de sucessores nas unidades familiares. As agroindústrias familiares podem ser uma estratégia para possibilitar a permanência destes jovens. Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a participação dos jovens rurais nas agroindústrias e o efeito gerado na sucessão. Foram analisados: o grau de satisfação dos jovens com as atividades desempenhadas nas agroindústrias, a autonomia, a remuneração pelo serviço prestado e o envolvimento na tomada de decisão. O trabalho foi realizado em sete municípios, Grão Pará, Imaruí, São Ludgero, São Martinho, Santa Rosa de Lima, Treze de Maio e Tubarão com jovens entre 15 e 24 anos. A pesquisa foi fundamentada em métodos qualitativos, adotando como estratégia os casos múltiplos. Para coleta de dados foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os jovens e com os pais dos jovens envolvidos com agroindústrias familiares de diferentes ramos. Os resultados apontaram que a permanência dos jovens e sucessão da unidade familiar depende do grau de participação e da satisfação, motivação, autonomia e remuneração. Foi verificada diferenças entre gênero e faixa etária. Jovens entre 15-19 anos estavam indecisos ou não pretendiam permanecer na propriedade buscando outros projetos de vida. Constatamos que em estudos e projetos institucionais relativos à família brasileira, a atenção tem se voltado sobretudo às questões e problemáticas que afetam as mulheres e os jovens, verificando-se, ainda, a invisibilidade das crianças rurais. Isso configura uma lacuna no campo das ciências sociais dedicadas aos estudos rurais na abordagem da condição social da infância e das mudanças nos processos de socialização desse segmento no cenário da agricultura familiar. Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as redefinições emergentes nos processos de socialização das crianças rurais, a partir de uma pesquisa qualitativa realizada recentemente pelo autor em comunidades rurais de Santa Catarina, no Sul do Brasil.
Este estudo trata das razões que motivam as mulheres organizadas no Movimento das Mulheres Camponesas a buscarem o cultivo de sementes crioulas visando à produção de alimentos. Para tanto, realizou-se uma análise centrada nas práticas e percepções destas mulheres no que se refere à (re)produção e multiplicação de sementes crioulas e sua possível contribuição para a produção de alimentos para o autoconsumo de forma sustentável no município de Itá, região oeste de Santa Catarina. Utilizou-se como técnica para a coleta de dados, entrevistas semiestruturadas e a observação não participante; já a análise das informações coletadas foi feita através de análise de conteúdo. Dentre as principais constatações, destaca-se o fato das mulheres perceberem a importância do MMC para impulsionar a participação nos espaços públicos e a valorização das suas atividades cotidianas.
