Experimental evaluation of the global heat transfer coefficient in a fixed bed, percolated by water. Many experiments were performed in a fixed bed heat exchanger, packed with stainless steel spheres, percolated by water and heated through the wall. Wall and center temperatures were measured for several experimental conditions: 3 mm < dp < 6. Additionally, it was observed that the temperatures near the wall are more influenced by the water flow rate than those at the center of the fixed bed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
