At the current stage the quantity of infertile couples is steadily increasing. Assisted reproductive technology, including in vitro fertilization, help resolve this problem. One of the most serious complication of this procedure is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Nowadays, IVF specialists know how to predict this syndrome, using some criterion. We did research at the gynecology department base in the Mariinskaya hospital in Saint-Petersburg, aimed to analyze the criterion for prediction a degree of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. We concluded that anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) > 3,6 ng/ml, the number of punctured follicles >14, OHSS in the past, polycystic ovary syndrome and multi follicular ovaries in medical histories increase the likelihood of emergence of this syndrome. Risk factors assessment, early prevention and detection and appropriate treatment OHSS contribute to avoid a severe degree of this syndrome and emergency hospitalizaton .
