Amaç: Dünyada ve ülkemizde önemli bir sağlık sorunu olan hastane infeksiyonları (Hİ), hastanın hastanede yatış süresinin uzamasına, morbidite, mortalite ve tedavi maliyetinin artmasına neden olmaktadır. Hastane genelinde Hİ'nın insidansı %5-10 iken, YBÜ'nde bu oran %20-25 olarak görülmektedir. (Yüceer ve Demir 2009). Bu çalışma yoğun bakımlarda çalışan hemşirelerin izolasyon önlemlerine uyum düzeylerinin incelenmesi ve hemşirelerin sosyodemografik özelliklerinin, eğitim/çalışma özelliklerinin, izolasyon önlemleri konusundaki bilgi ve uygulamalarının izolasyon önlemlerine uyumları ile ilişkisini incelemek için, Konya' da bir kamu hastanesindeki yoğun bakımlarda çalışan 100 hemşire ile 20 Nisan-2 mayıs 2016 tarihleri arasında tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Hastalar ve Yöntem: Çalışmada öz bildirime dayalı anket formu ve İzolasyon önlemlerine uyum ölçeği (İÖUÖ) kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 21,0 paket programında, sayı, yüzdelik hesaplamalar, ortalamalar, Kruskal-Wallis varyans analizi, Mann-Whitney U testi, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve Pearson korelasyon analizleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma kapsamındaki bireylerin yaş ortalaması 28,93±5,67 olup, %69'u kadın, %51'i bekâr, %60'ı lisans ve üstü mezunudur. Katılımcıların %96'sının izolasyon önlemleri hakkında eğitim aldığı ve %91'inin izolasyon önlemleri hakkında bilgilerini yeterli bulduğu saptanmıştır. İzolasyon önlemleri uyum ölçeğinden ortalama 76,84±9,16 puan alınmıştır. Katılımcıların mezun oldukları okul ile İÖUÖ puan ortalaması arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Ayrıca katılımcıların İÖUÖ puan ortalaması ile izolasyon önlemleri hakkında bilgi düzeylerini yeterli bulması durumu puan ortalaması arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Çalışmaya katılan hemşirelerin izolasyon önlemlerine uyumlarının iyi olduğu, izolasyon önlemleri konusunda eğitim alanların ölçekten daha yüksek puan aldıkları saptanmıştır. Bu sonuçlar ışığında yoğun bakımda çalışan hemşirelerin kurum içerisinde aldıkları hizmet içi eğitimlerin uyum oranını arttıracağı düşünülmektedir.
