<p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan studi mengetahui keberadaan <em>Salmonella </em>sp. pada daging ayam suwir bubur serta rekomendasi agar aman dan layak untuk dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian lapang <em>cross sectional study</em>. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pedagang bubur ayam yang berada (radius 100 meter) di lingkar kampus Institut Pertanian Bogor, Dramaga, Bogor. Penelitian dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan pengujian laboratorium. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dari 15 pedagang bubur ayam, setiap pedagang diambil sampel sebanyak 3 kali ulangan, total sampel adalah 45. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat (<em>fisher exact test</em>). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan keberadaan <em>Salmonella enteretica serovars Enteritidis </em>dalam daging ayam suwir bubur ayam sebanyak 6,66% (3/45) dan terdapat hubungan antara asal daging ayam dan keberadaan <em>Salmonella Enteritidis. </em>(p <em>value</em>=0,022 dan CC=0,577).</p><p> </p><p>This study was aims to conducted studies to determine the presence of Salmonella sp. in shredded chicken meat of chicken porridge and recommendations for safe for consumption. A cross sectional study approach was used in this study. The population in this study was all chicken porridge seller which located in radius of 100 m around of the campus area Bogor Agricultural University, Dramaga, Bogor. The research was done through interview, observation and laboratory examination. The samples in this study were 15 chicken porridge seller with repeated for three times and total number of samples were 45. The data were analyzed by univariat and bivariate (fisher exact test). The results of this study showed the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis in 6.66% (3/45) of shredded chicken meat chicken porridge and there was a relationship between the origin of chicken meat and the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis (p value = 0.022 and CC = 0.577).</p>
Aim: This study aimed to compare chemical composition and contaminants (pesticide residues, antibiotic residues, and heavy metal residues) between organic and conventional goat milk in Bogor District, West Java Province, Indonesia. Materials and Methods: Milk sampling was carried out from March to August 2018 at six goat farms. The chemical quality of milk was checked using the Lactoscan Ultrasonic Milk Analyzer device. Fatty acids were analyzed using gas chromatography (GC). Pesticide residues in goat's milk were analyzed using a GC-electron capture detector (GC-ECD). Antibiotic residues were analyzed using bioassay screening test method. The lead (Pb) and arsenic (As) residues were analyzed using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Results: The content of fat, protein, and lactose showed that there was no difference in the composition of goat's milk between organic and conventional farms. Caprylic acid (C8:0) and capric acid (C10:0) of organic goat milk are higher than conventional goat milk. Stearic acid (C18:0) and linoleic acid (C18:2) of conventional goat milk are higher than organic goat milk. The total fatty acid of organic goat milk is higher than conventional goat milk. Organochlorine pesticide residues were not detected in organic goat milk and conventional goat milk. Tetracycline antibiotic residues were found in one sample (5.56%) of organic goat milk, and macrolides residues were found in two samples (11.11%) of conventional goat milk. Pb residue in organic goat milk is 50 ppb while conventional goat milk is 80 ppb. Residue As in organic goat milk is 70 ppb while conventional goat milk is 110 ppb. Conclusion: There was no chemical composition (fat, protein, and lactose) difference between organic and conventional goat milk. Saturated fatty acid (SFA) in organic goat milk is higher than conventional goat milk. Pesticide residues are not found in both organic and conventional goat milk. Tetracycline antibiotics were found in organic goat milk and macrolide antibiotic groups found in conventional goat milk. R abies is an acute animal disease which can communicate from animal to human. When it has shown clinical symptoms, rabies cases always end in death, both in animals or humans (Ditkeswan, 2015). The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that 99% of rabies cases caused by dog bites (WHO, 2018a). WHO also estimated that deaths caused by rabies reach 59,000 cases each year globally with 95% of cases occurring in Africa and Asia (WHO, 2018b). Historically, Bali Province of Indonesia is free from rabies, until the first confirmed case of both animals and humans rabies in Semenanjung Bukit, Badung District (Putra, 2011). Semenanjung Bukit is relatively a localized area so we have a good hope that rabies can be controlled rapidly. Although the coordination method of control and eradication of rabies in Bali have been applied using cross-sectoral approach, bothin the level of local and center, the spread of the disease cannot be controlled. It resulted the spread of disease in all areas of Bali Province in June 2010 (Putra et al., 2009). Then, it resulted people's anxiety and threat to the development of Bali tourism (Putra, 2011). Moreover, the data from the Ministry of Health showed that 54.76% of cases of rabies animal bites in Indonesia in 2011-2017 occurred in Bali Province (Kemenkes, 2018). Rabies is a disease that can be controlled by the surveillance system through continuous disease detection to identify the infection of rabies in animals (Ditkeswan, 2015). Spatial analysis is one of methods for analyzing the surveillance data that is useful for identifying and analyzing patterns of disease in an area. The study aimed to analyze the pattern of spatial occurrence of rabies cases in dogs in Bali Province. Data of dog rabies cases was obtained from the surveillance conducted by the Denpasar Veterinary Disease Investigation Center in 2012-2018. The data analysis was carried out using autocorrelation of Morans Index. The results show that rabies cases in a region affected adjacent areas. Spatial correlation produces hotspot (high case areas surrounded by low case areas), coldspots (low case areas surrounded by high case areas), quadrant I (high case areas surrounded by high case areas), and quadrant III (low case area surrounded by low case areas) areas. Nine sub-districts are recurrent hotspot areas and the potential of the areas as source of rabies spread need to be observed. Background and Aim: Antibiotics are often overused and misused by broiler farmers. Moreover, this practice may lead to antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics may be used for various purposes such as therapy, prophylaxis, flushing, and growth promoters. The study aimed to examine the association of knowledge and attitudes with antibiotics used by broiler farmers. Materials and Methods: The study design was cross-sectional. The data were obtained from interviewing 132 farmers' households in Bogor District, West Java, Indonesia. The outcome variable was antibiotic use, whereas the independent variables included knowledge and attitude toward antibiotic resistance. The statistical analysis used a t-test and correlation test. Results: A total of 78% of broilers farmers use antibiotics, and most of the farmers used antibiotics for flushing and prophylaxis. Furthermore, antibiotic use was associated with broiler farmers' knowledge and attitudes toward antibiotic resistance. However, there is no significant correlation between the duration of antibiotics use and their knowledge and attitude. Conclusion: The use of antibiotics in broilers is still high in Bogor, and most of the used antibiotics belong to the Medically Important Antimicrobial category. In general, the use of antibiotics in broilers is influenced by knowledge.
