O propósito deste texto é explorar, por meio de análise documental e método etnográfico, a dinâmica de debates entre militantes e apoiadores do Movimento Nacional da População de Rua (MNPR), em torno de atributos valorativos para a militância política. Ao avaliar as cartilhas nacionais de formação política, discuto o latente teor civilizatório presente nestes documentos e, pelo mergulho etnográfico no cotidiano da mobilização social em Porto Alegre, RS, analiso as formas como tais conteúdos são problematizados e contestados na prática militante. Tal cenário permite apreender uma arena na qual a normatividade é negociada por divergências que, mais do que produzirem cisão, conformam uma luta constante por espaços mais igualitários de fala e expressão política entre militantes e apoiadores do MNPR.
A partir de experiências etnográficas em espaços de organização políticae reivindicação de direitos, discutirei neste artigo a construção de elementosdiacríticos mobilizados por integrantes do Movimento Nacional da Populaçãode Rua (MNPR-RS), destacando a dimensão da agência contida na relação dossujeitos com instituições e agentes estatais e não estatais envolvidos na mobilizaçãopolítica. O destaque será dado para a dinâmica com a qual os militantesdo MNPR-RS classificam diferentes agentes de interlocução a partir da manipulaçãodas narrativas que envolvem a “experiência das ruas”, acionando discursosque ora positivam essa experiência, ora expõem sua dimensão perversa, de acordocom os agentes e as intenções em jogo, movimentando, também, determinadaspráticas, saberes e proposições que perpassam essas arenas de mobilização e reivindicação.
