This technical note deals with two special topics from our previous paper (Chue and Chen in Arch Appl Mech 72 [673][674][675][676][677][678][679][680][681][682][683][684][685] 2003) in Archive of Applied Mechanics: the effects of electrical conditions imposed on the edges and bonded interfaces of piezoelectric-dielectric and piezoelectric-conductor wedges on antiplane problems. After employing relatively realistic electrical conditions, we found that stress and electric displacement singularities are altered when boundary conditions and/or continuity conditions are changed, and we compared the results with those of previous studies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
