This study explains entrepreneurship in the context of a comparative analysis of Vietnam and South Korea. For that purpose, it develops an analytical framework based upon both theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and sociological approach to demonstrate whether or how much macro-environmental factors, such as entrepreneurship education, family support and social support, and the three TPB antecedents, including attitude, subjective norms and perceived behaviour control, affect entrepreneurial intention. Primary data were collected from a selfadministered survey with 600 students in Vietnam and 550 students in South Korea using the convenience sampling method. Structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis was adopted to test the entrepreneurial intention model in two subsamples. Furthermore, independent sample T-test and multi-group analyses were performed to see differences in entrepreneurial intention between the two countries. Background: Strategic alliance is a popular strategic option for business entities to strengthen the competitive advantages of all partners in a partnership. The global logistics industry has witnessed the formulation of several successful strategic alliances. However, the Vietnamese logistics industry seems to grow slowly and lacks long-term inter-firm partnerships. In such a context, it is critical to have a more effective approach to selecting partners in strategic alliances to increase long-term relationships and firm performance. Method: Thus, this study proposes using the SBM-I-C DEA model to examine and suggest partners for Vietnamese logistics firms to form strategic alliances. Results: Our findings show that integrating technology in managing strategic alliances will foster companies in the alliance to formulate a better strategy with up-to-date information on policies. Conclusion: Using the SBM-I-C DEA model, companies can minimize operating costs and optimize delivery time. Thus, companies can better satisfy customers. From the research findings, some implications are proposed for Vietnamese logistics companies.
This research investigated the relationship between ethical leadership and employee performance using data from the employees in Vietnamese service firms. We examined four dimensions of psychological capital (efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism), and employee engagement as mediators of the ethical leadership to two dimensions of employee performance (task performance and contextual performance) relationship. Results from 563 respondents of 73 service firms revealed that ethical leadership was positively and significantly related to task performance and contextual performance and that this relationship was mediated by four dimensions of psychological capital and employee engagement, and work experience and education level, controlling for task performance and contextual performance. We discuss implication of our findings for theory and practice.
