Resumo O Litoral Norte do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, no Brasil, é uma região que tem presenciado diversas transformações em suas formas de ocupação e expansão urbana, ao longo da história. Desde as primeiras ocupações por estâncias e fazendas até as modalidades atuais, predominantemente turísticas, os municípios desta região passaram por uma série de modificações de usos e de formas, ao longo do tempo. Este artigo tem como objetivo principal apresentar os períodos de ocupação do Litoral Norte do Rio Grande do Sul e sua relação com o turismo de segunda residência, delimitados através da identificação dos usos, da análise das formas de crescimento urbano, do traçado e das tipologias das edificações, verificados na região. Na pesquisa realizada, foi possível identificar, delimitar e analisar quatro períodos no processo de ocupação da região: estâncias e fazendas (até 1888), turismo de saúde (1888-1940), loteamentos balneários (1940-1995) e condomínios horizontais (1995-2016).
No presente artigo se teve como objetivo principal analisar as dimensões do Modelo de Competitividade de Dwyer e Kim (2003), e comparar com o proposto no Estudo de Competitividade dos 65 Destinos Indutores do Instituto Brasileiro de Turismo (FGV; MTUR; SEBRAE, 2014), e dessa forma, apresentar um panorama sobre quais dimensões estavam sendo avaliadas nos modelos. Foram abordados aspectos relativos à qualidade, marketing e sustentabilidade. Para este estudo foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Como principais resultados, verificou-se que o modelo de Dwyer e Kim se apresentou mais complexo e com análises mais específicas referentes à competitividade, porém ambos se remeteram às temáticas de qualidade, marketing e sustentabilidade.
Este artigo tem como objetivo principal apresentar e analisar os pilares propostos pelo State of European Cities Report (2007) para a competitividade urbana sob uma perspectiva de competitividade e inovação territorial, focalizando-os como base para que as cidades se desenvolvam como destinos turísticos. A metodologia utilizada no artigo foi um estudo exploratório, com pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, cruzando o marco teórico com a proposta europeia. Considerou-se inovação desde a proposta do Manual de Oslo, e entre os resultados do artigo, identificou-se que a inovação territorial pode ser uma estratégia para as cidades que desejam se tornar destinos turísticos, sendo adequado focalizar nos quatro pilares da competitividade territorial – talento, inovação, conectividade, empreendedorismo. O artigo contribui para expor uma estratégia utilizada pela União Europeia, a qual situa as cidades como territórios centros de convergências para o desenvolvimento local, refletindo em melhorias sistêmicas da competitividade urbana. Este artículo realiza un análisis del contenido de tres monitores de medición de la competitividad objetivando identificar las variables presentes en estos monitores que verifican el nivel de innovación o de capacidad para innovación. Así, se analizó los monitores TTCI (Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index) de WEF (World Ecoomic Forum) y el Monitor de Competitividad Turística de Brasil de MTur/FGV, comparándolos con el monitor de competitividad general, el GCI (Global Competitiveness Index) de WEF. El análisis es bajo las teorías/conceptos de innovación, considerando los factores y obstáculos citados en la literatura como variables que actúan sobre la generación de la capacidad innovadora. La metodología es cualitativa, de revisión bibliográfica y análisis de contenido. Los resultados indican que no existe una coherencia entre la teoría y la práctica para una correcta vinculación entre el constructo competitividad e innovación. Pues, aunque la teoría plantea una relación directa entre ellos, en plan práctico se observó que los monitores de competitividad no poseen variables para medir la innovación en su estructura. Por tanto, los monitores analizados no están considerando esta relación directa, tampoco la importancia del efecto de la innovación sobre la competitividad turística.
