RESUMO O presente artigo apresenta os resultados do convênio de cooperação firmado entre o Ministério Público do Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul e a Universidade Católica Dom Bosco, denominado Projeto CEIPPAM/UCDB, incluindo o gerenciamento do banco de dados pela linguagem R. Foram gerados 250 pareceres entre setembro de 2018 a setembro de 2020, nos quais foram identificados ou confirmados 11.376,03 ha de desmatamento em Mato Grosso do Sul. O município de Corumbá/MS apresentou as maiores áreas de supressão com 4.164,0117 ha, além ter o maior número de demandas atendidas pelo CEIPPAM/UCDB com 41 pedidos. A matriz de correlação indicou que os municípios com os maiores índices de desmatamento e danos ambientais identificados ou confirmados pelo CEIPPAM/UCDB são aqueles de maior extensão territorial (Corr=0,98) e com grandes remanescentes de vegetação nativa (Corr=0,99), também indicou que geralmente os municípios com Índice Bruto de Sustentabilidade elevado (Corr=-0,75) geram menos pedidos ao CEIPPAM/UCDB.
As informações sobre o uso e cobertura do solo desempenham um papel vital em muitos aspectos sociais, econômicos, políticos e ambientais. Estas informações subsidiam programas e políticas públicas socioambientais a fim de minimizar os impactos negativos do desenvolvimento econômico, principalmente na gestão de Unidades de Conservação, tais como as Áreas de Proteção Ambiental (APA). Mais recentemente soluções utilizando o Google Earth Engine (GEE) têm apresentado grandes perspectivas de aplicação prática em relação à análise de dados ambientais de uso e cobertura do solo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar a classificação de uso e cobertura do solo para o ano de 2020 na APA do Guariroba, localizada em Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. O estudo analisou a aplicação de cinco algoritmos de classificação supervisionada disponíveis no GEE, onde constatou-se que os métodos baseados em árvore de decisão Classification and Regression Trees (CART) e Random Forest (RF) apresentaram os melhores resultados visuais e estatísticos para a cobertura e uso do solo. O GEE demonstrou-se ser uma ferramenta versátil na análise de dados ambientais, facilitando a identificação do uso e cobertura do solo, bem como subsidiando informações para o manejo sustentável de unidades de conservação.
