The introduction of innovative technologies into the educational process has become an integral part of modern educational systems development. Information-communication technologies varies the teaching-learning process by making it more entertaining for the students and more beneficial for the teachers as it allows using more resources and a wider range of exercises to form and develop students’ skills. In this regard the article analyzes the advantages of the use of Google educational tools for the formation of students’ learner autonomy, responsibility and promotion of pedagogical interaction. It is hypothesized that future foreign language teachers’ and managers’ learning autonomy and responsibility along with learning outcomes can be enhanced by implementing ICT into educational process. The article reviews the notion of information and communication environment of higher educational institutions, analyzes the ways to introduce Google educational tools namely Google Forms and Google Classroom into the daily learning routines of university students. It also provides evidence-based instructional practices along with illustrative examples of its use when introducing new material, giving assignments, initiating reflection, conducting tests and setting deadlines. The questionnaire surveys conducted at higher educational institutions reveal that students exhibit higher levels of responsibility and motivation and display better academic achievements when being educated with the help of Google educational tools. The prospects of further investigation may include substantiation of the organizational and pedagogical conditions of the future foreign language teachers and managers training in the conditions of the information-educational environment of higher educational institutions.
The recognition that transversal competences are increasingly needed to face the challenges of the ever-changing world has given rise to work examining students’ development of transversal competences (TVCs) during their university time. This approach argues in favor of embedding transversal competences as well as health literacy competence and subject-based competences in curricula. The mini-study presented herein first posits a logical model for the integration of transversal competences in university curricula, supplemented with a qualimetric model comprising 6 factors associated with transversal competences. The resulting tools for transversal competence evaluation and self-assessment were next applied in a pilot questionnaire study of a small group of management students at a local university. Overall, the findings support the claim that students’ TVC development requires a new educational paradigm based on a holistic approach to competence-based learning that involves the harmonious development of a person’s TVCs and subject-based competences. Moreover, the results may serve as a reference for future studies on transversal competences and health literacy in particular, as well as for teachers and researchers in related fields.
Possible scenarios for using blockchain technology in the field of education are considered. Methods and technologies of tokenization of assets, related to the educational process, are investigated. It is concluded, that the blockchain technology is decentralized and transparent with a high degree of reliability, which ensures the equality of all users of the chain's services. The transparency of the technology guarantees the participants in the process against abuse and forgery of documents. The study of the features of smart contracts made it possible to form the advantages of smart contracts in the field of education. This is, first of all, the conclusion of agreements without the participation of third parties, as well as the security and confidentiality of agreements. This ensures that the terms and subject of the agreement are kept secret, and that no one else can amend the agreement. At the same time, storing the contract in encrypted form ensures its confidentiality. A decrease in the cost of operations was noted. Tokenization of educational assets is considered on the example of preparing and defending a thesis with the subsequent registration of a diploma. The processes of passing the thesis in the context of using blockchain technology and issuing smart contracts are considered in detail. The advantages of using blockchain technology and smart contracts are illustrated with specific examples. A study of the means and mechanisms for ensuring the confirmation of the authenticity of educational documents, the confidentiality of students' personal cards, and student identification has been carried out. To create a decentralized distributed ledger for tokenization of educational assets, it is proposed to use blockchain technology and smart contracts based on the Ethereum platform
