There are several studies in the field of Stress
Purpose The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted work, leading to the adoption of remote work practices and changes in power dynamics and trust. Although managing remote work has received much attention, the impact of the quality of work life on the effectiveness of hybrid workplaces has been less studied. This study aims to examine the relationship between quality of work life and psychological capital among organizational leaders using an artificial neural network (ANN) model. Design/methodology/approach This study used a cross-sectional quantitative methodology. A structured questionnaire was used to collect 268 responses from organizational leaders using the convenience sampling method. The data collected were analyzed using the ANN model in the Python interface. Findings The ANN model training and testing revealed that there is a positive relationship between the quality of work life and psychological capital among organizational leaders. The R-squared values for hope, efficacy, resilience and optimism were 85.19%, 82.08%, 78.55% and 81.08%, respectively, in the training set, and 81.30%, 78.95%, 76.52% and 71.41% in the testing set. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no previous research in the context of studying the relationship between quality of work life and psychological capital among organizational leaders using the machine learning approach – ANN model.
Purpose This paper aims to identify and model the key barriers to implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) in higher educational institution. Design/methodology/approach Using the interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique, the study has developed a hierarchical-based model, depicting the mutual relationships amongst the key barriers to implementation of PjBL. Additionally, the paper has performed Matrice d’ Impacts Croises Multiplication Appliqué an Classement (MICMAC) analysis to categorize the barriers in terms of their driving and dependence power. Findings The study has identified the key barriers to implementation of PjBL and presented an integrated model using ISM. Higher educational institutions need to pay attention to diagnose and overcome these hindrances for effective implementation of PjBL in their programmes. Research limitations/implications The study adopts a systematic way to model the relevant barriers to implementation of PjBL. The ISM-based model would help higher education institutions to prioritize the issues as the barriers are hierarchically structured. As the input to model development is based on the experts’ opinions, it may be biased, influencing the final output of the structural model. Originality/value The presentation of PjBL implementation barriers in the form of an ISM-based model is a new effort. The model would be useful to understand the barriers and overcome these for the successful implementation of PjBL in higher educational institutions.
Diversity at the workplace refers to the environment where individuals from different social backgrounds work together to pursue organizational goals. It is often difficult for individuals to accept members who belong to a different country, culture, religion, and other backgrounds. To manage this, organizations must encourage a climate that appreciates diversity and fosters inclusivity. Diversity climate in organizations is an indication of the extent that working individuals in organizations appreciate diversity related management policies, practices, and action plans aimed to accommodate everyone equally. Employees experience a sense of inclusion when their feelings of uniqueness and belongingness are addressed by the firm's inclusive initiatives making them contribute to the objectives of the organization. This study conceptually provides a theoretical understanding that inclusion and diversity management positively influences the perceived diversity climate which in turn motivates employees towards higher organizational performance.
This chapter discusses that well-being is a skill that has to be mastered by every professional by practicing meditation, sleep, exercise, nutrition, belonging to a community, a spiritual connection, and other factors such as mindfulness training, maintaining the positive psychological capital, and psychological contract in our day-to-day life. This chapter focuses on the impact of mindfulness, psychological capital, and psychological contract on the well-being of organisational leaders. It concludes with the impact of mindfulness, psychological capital, and psychological contract on the well-being of organisational leaders in the new normal.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
