Objetivos. Determinar el efecto de las estrategias de supervisión de eventos adversos en la seguridad del paciente hospitalizado en EsSalud, La Libertad, Trujillo. Material y método. Investigación cuantitativa explicativa, La muestra fue de 47 enfermeras. Se aplicó un cuestionario válido y confiable sobre la seguridad de los pacientes en hospitales: Agency for Healthcare Reserch and Quality (AHRQ) modificado por las autoras. Resultados. Tanto la seguridad del paciente como las estrategias de supervisión de los eventos adversos, fueron percibidas por las enfermeras en nivel medio con el 66% y 87.2% respectivamente. Conclusiones. Existe una correlación moderada directa entre las estrategias de supervisión y la seguridad del paciente (RS=0.525; P<0.01). Así mismo el coeficiente de determinación fue de 27.5 % como efecto positivo. Los resultados obtenidos van a contribuir en la satisfacción del paciente hospitalizado y de sus familiares; a la vez que mejora la seguridad del paciente disminuyendo la ocurrencia de eventos adversos y promoviendo una cultura de calidad del cuidado.
