Background: Hypertensive emergencies are still a common mode of finding hypertension. Objective: to determine the epidemiological, clinical and paraclinical characteristics of the hypertensive emergency, and to evaluate the factors associated with poor blood pressure control.
English title: Takayasu disease in a 52-year-old hypertensive diabetic man: uncommon case report
Takayasu's disease is a chronic vascular, particularly arterial inflammatory disease, affecting the large vessels. Its diagnosis is often late at the stage of stenosis; the inflammatory phase goes unnoticed. We report a case of Takayasu disease in a 52-year-old diabetic and hypertensive man who consulted about a left shoulder joint disease. Clinical examination noted unidirectional limitation of the left shoulder with a pseudo midwife's hand sign on cuff inflation in the left arm. Thoracic aortic angioscan is an important part of the diagnosis.
