Although, roundabouts have proved significant in improving safety, capacity, and environmental performance, they have shown an increasing crash rate in Oman over the years. This paper aims to evaluate the safety performance of the roundabouts in Oman through the development of crash prediction models to examine the relationship between the geometric, traffic flow variables and crash frequency and severity. These models can determine which variables are the best indicators for safety performance.Generalized Linear Modelling (GLM) technique with Poisson or Negative Binomial Regression (NBR) was carried out to develop these models. Two types of models were developed separately; the flow-based models including only exposure functions, and the full models containing both exposure functions and other significant geometry and traffic variables. The result shows that the 85 th percentile speed, number of lanes at specific approach, entry angle, and circulating width were the most significant variables.It was found that reducing the 85 th percentile speed reduces the total and injuries crashes, however Downloaded by [Athabasca University] at 09:40 21 June 2016 ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT 2 increasing the number of lanes in each approach and adding right-turn bypass lane may be the most effective methods to reduce the rear-end accidents.

Rapid advancements in technology in today’s world have been accompanied by the need for equipping classrooms with the best educational technology. The biggest challenge in incorporating technology into learning is allowing students to take advantage of learning technology while ensuring that the class is productive and well managed. The main objective of this paper is to study the effects of using a classroom management system in computer lab sessions for smooth technology integration and effective computer lab management. The practice was evaluated through comparative analysis of the student performance, survey results and feedback from teachers, students, and IT management staff. Generally, the responses of participants were positive, more than 90% of them agreed that the system enhances the learning environment. The results analysis showed that there is a noticeable increase in student performance

Asphalt pavement is form an integral part of any transportation system. Temperature is the significant factor that effect on the performance and life span of a pavement. This paper study the relationship between the air temperature and asphalt pavement temperature and using Excel in order to predicate surface asphalt pavement model for Muscat climate. The models were compared with the standard models SHRP and LTPP models [3]. The development models resulted the surface pavement temperature was taken more time in heating cycle than air temperature. When compared the air temperature and surface asphalt pavement temperature with the standards models SHRP and LTPP models. There was difference between them due to the standards models was design for low temperature under zero where in Muscat temperature cannot be under zero [2].
