ABSTRACTThis is a descriptive type integrative review study with the objective evidence available about the nursing instructions provided to ostomized people. Data collection from June to July 2014, articles published in the last 10 years. Inclusion criteria: Explicit methods, in Portuguese, adults and seniors of both sexes, online journals free from the advanced search. Exclusion criteria: duplicate studies and not adherence to the purpose of the study. There was obtained a sample of 10 items. The publications focus on the period 2009 to 2010 (50%). The literature recommends the beginning of nursing instructions preoperatively. The content of the guidelines is variable between the articles and there is no standardization / preconization specific consensus and guidelines for the issue to be addressed. We conclude that there is huge gap in the person's rehabilitation process with stoma and can be solved with redemption of the guidance provided to customers in terms of seizure of information.
PURPOSE:To evaluate wound healing in rats by using low-level laser therapy (LLLT) associated with hydrocolloid occlusive dressing. METHODS:Forty male, adult, Wistar rats were used, distributed into four groups: LG (received 2 J/cm² of laser therapy); HG (treated with hydrocolloid); LHG (treated with 2 J/cm² of laser therapy and hydrocolloid); and the CG (treated with 1 mL of 0.9% saline). The wound was evaluated at pre-determined periods 3rd and 7th days, considering the macroscopic and histological parameters (inflammatory cells, capillary neoformation, fibroblasts, collagen formation and reepithelialization). RESULTS:The LG group at seven days showed increased collagen formation, the LHG group at 3 days showed mild collagen formation. The HG group and the CG at 7 days showed complete reepithelialization. CONCLUSION:Low-level laser therapy as well as the hydrocolloid dressing have favored the wound-healing process in rats.
Objectives: To analyze the relationships between the quality of life (QOL) of people with stoma with sociodemographic, clinical, lifestyle, sanitation, and housing indicators. Method: Cross-sectional study with a sample of 106 individuals with stoma interviewed from May to December 2019. A sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire and the City of Hope Quality of Life Ostomy Questionnaire were used. Results: Spiritual well-being (7.71 +/-1.09) was the best performing domain. Quality of life did not differ between men and women (p = 0.372), but was associated with education (< 0.001) and family income (p = 0.025), diabetes (p = 0.008) and alcoholism (p = 0.044), drinking water conditions (p < 0.001), garbage disposal (p = 0.021), having electricity (p = 0.034), housing type (p = 0.026), number of rooms (p = 0.023), and housing coverage (p = 0.021). Conclusion: worse socioeconomic, sanitation, and housing indicators appear to negatively impact the QOL of people with stomata.
Utilizou-se um questionário sociodemográfico e clínico e o City of Hope - Quality of Life - Ostomy Questionnary.
