Uracil mustard was administered at different dosage levels to albino mice and the effects on peripheral blood, bone marrow and spleen cells quantitated. At low dosage levels (0,0125 and 0,050 mg/kg/die for 5 days) decrease of circulating (mainly polinucleated) leukocytes was the only effect observed at 24 hrs. after the end of the treatment. Higher doses (0,200 and 0,800 mg/kg/die for 5 days) produced remarkable hypoplasia of the hemolymphopoietic tissues and a slight decrease in body and kidney weight. Eleven days after the end of the treatment the lymphoid and megakaryocytic hypoplasia was reduced and all the other observed lesions were repaired.
