Resumo-Com objetivo de estudar o comportamento de mudas de três espécies de eucalipto produzidas em dois tamanhos de recipientes, foram instalados dois experimentos no viveiro florestal da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia, campus Cruz das Almas, ambos em Delineamento Inteiramente Casualizado, esquema fatorial 3 x 2, (três espécies e dois tamanhos de tubetes), com 4 repetições. O primeiro experimento foi referente a produção das mundas no viveiro e o segundo consistiu na simulação de campo. As características avaliadas foram: altura, diâmetro, área foliar, número de folhas, massa seca da parte aérea, massa seca do sistema radicular e percentagem de deformação de raízes. As mudas de todas as espécies produzidas em tubetes de 180 cm³ apresentaram maior crescimento para todas as variáveis avaliadas, podendo ser levadas para o campo mais cedo, diminuindo o seu ciclo de produção no viveiro. Nos tubetes de maior volume (180 cm³) as mudas ficam aptas para o plantio aos 60 dias, enquanto as provenientes de tubetes de menor volume (55 cm³) atingem o padrão mínimo exigido para o plantio no campo aos 120 dias. No experimento de simulação de campo foi verificado que mudas produzidas em tubetes de 55 cm³ apresentaram menor crescimento em altura e diâmetro, menor massa seca da parte aérea e raiz e maior número de deformações de raízes, independente da espécie avaliada. Avaliou-se a produtividade e sobrevivência de minicepas de Poincianella pyramidalis, Senegalia bahiensis e Enterolobium contortisiliquum em diferentes tamanhos de tubetes. Foram implantados em minijardim multiclonal, conduzido em delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC), contendo três tratamentos (tubetes de 50, 180, 280 cm³), considerando os experimentos de 1 a 3, P. pyramidalis S. bahiensis e E. contortisiliquum, respectivamente. As variáveis analisadas foram sobrevivência das minicepas após sucessivas coletas, número de brotações por minicepa a cada 15 dias e número de miniestacas por minicepa após sucessivas coletas. Realizou-se análise de variância e teste de Tukey a 5% de probabilidade para os dados que apresentaram normalidade. Observou-se alta sobrevivência das minicepas para as três espécies, após sucessivas coletas de miniestacas, indicando assim potencial para uso da técnica de miniestaquia. Foi também observado que o uso de tubetes de volumes reduzidos pode afetar de forma negativa a produtividade de brotações e consequentemente o número de miniestacas por minicepa
A moringa é uma planta muito versátil, tendo várias aplicações, das quais as sementes são um poderoso clarificante, podendo ser utilizada no tratamento das águas que servem para o uso humano. Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar se o tipo da secagem e o tempo de armazenamento da semente de moringa influenciam no tratamento da água para consumo humano. Para avaliar a eficácia em relação às condições de armazenamento foram coletadas sementes dentro do Campus da UFRB e amostras de água em um açude. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 5 x 2 x 2, sendo cinco os períodos de armazenamento (0, 8, 9, 10 e 11 meses), duas condições da semente (semente com casca e semente sem casca) e duas forma de secagem do pó da semente (pó com secagem natural e pó seco em estufa). Os tratamentos foram avaliados em triplicata para os parâmetros turbidez, cor aparente e pH. Os dados foram comparados pelo teste de Tukey ao nível de 5% de probabilidade com programa estatístico R 3.4.2. Foi possível observar que as sementes de moringa com casca e secas em estufa proporcionaram redução considerável na turbidez da água durante os períodos de armazenamento testados, mantendo o pH dentro do que preconiza a Portaria GM/MS N° 888, de 4 de maio de 2021 do Ministério da Saúde. Para a remoção da cor as sementes secas em estufa foram mais eficientes até o oitavo mês de armazenamento.
