Resumen. Este artículo presenta resultados de dos proyectos de investigación que exploraron la cobertura del movimiento estudiantil 2011 realizada por dos cadenas de diarios de Chile: El Mercurio S.A.P y Diarios Mi Voz, en tres regiones del país. Dichas cadenas de medios corresponden a prensa impresa y digital, respectivamente. En las investigaciones se analizaron informaciones y fotografías que permitieron establecer transformaciones en las prácticas periodísticas así como similitudes en las formas de representar al movimiento estudiantil. Resumen: El artículo tiene por objetivo determinar y describir las preferencias políticas de jóvenes mujeres que cursan estudios universitarios en La Araucanía, en relación con las conductas y las opiniones vinculadas al ámbito del quehacer político. A partir de un diseño metodológico cuantitativo, se desarrolló la recolección de información (n=260) en cuatro universidades de la región. Dentro de los resultados, destaca un alto nivel de indiferencia respecto a la identificación con los partidos políticos tradicionales, escasa participación política en relación con la militancia activa, una mayor tendencia respecto a los partidos de izquierda en universidades tradicionales y un mayor nivel de compromiso político con causas estudiantiles.
Resumen: En la década de 1880 el Estado chileno ocupó la Araucanía. La escuela misional pasó a constituirse en el espacio concreto donde operó la transformación.En1896 asumieron esta tarea los misioneros capuchinos de Baviera, quienes fueron dejando un registro fotográfico de su accionar en la región. Muchas de estas fotografías fueron impresas como tarjetas postales. Este trabajo presenta resultados del análisis socio semióticode tarjetas postales ilustradas con fotografías de niños mapuches, editado y puesto en circulación por los capuchinos bávaros, a principios del siglo XX.
Resumen. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar resultados de una investigación acerca del imaginario social en torno a la mujer en el discurso de prensa del Diario Austral de Temuco, durante el periodo 1935-1952, años en los que se promulga el sufragio femenino en Chile para elecciones municipales y, posteriormente, para las elecciones presidenciales y parlamentarias.
