Este artigo analisa a trajetória de História, Ciências, Saúde - Manguinhos desde seu lançamento, em 1994. Multidisciplinar, o periódico veicula artigos inéditos, imagens, documentos, entrevistas e outros conteúdos, revisados pelos pares e relacionados a temas e personagens da história da medicina, saúde pública e ciências da vida. Foi analisado o contexto em que surgiu o periódico, sob o ponto de vista da saúde e da historiografia, bem como o dia-a-dia de uma editoria científica. Tabelas e gráficos mostram a variação dos assuntos; os índices de aceitação e rejeição de artigos; a origem geográfica dos autores, e as diferenças de perfis entre colaboradores e leitores das versões impressa e eletrônica, reveladas nas preferências temáticas de um e outro grupo. Revela ainda os fatores de impacto e imediatez da revista.
