Nach einer Untersuchung, welche Herr A l f r e d MUller auf meine Veranlassung ausfiihrte, lasst sich sowohl die Oxylactons!iure, wie das gut krystallisirende Dilacton aus der aa-Uioxyglutarsaure durch geeignete Behandlung in der Warme darstellen. Da indess diese Arbeit noch nicht vollstandig abgeschlossen ist, verzichte ich einstweilen auf eine Detailbeschreibung und will nur bemerken, dass diese Korper vie1 schwieriger rein zu erhalten sind, als ihre Homologen, weil sie ausserordentlich begierig Wasser aufnehmen und sich in die bei gewohnlicher Temperatur ganz bestandige Dioxysaure zuriickverwandeln. Es wiederholt sich hier in verstarktem Maasse das, worauf ich 'frikher bei den Monolactonen schon aufmerksam gemacht habe. Auch bei diesen nimmt ja das Anfangsglied, das Butyrolacton, 80 leicht Wasser auf, dass es in dieser Hinsicht mehr den 6-Lactonen als den homologen y-Lactonen gleicht, und die y-Oxybuttersaure ist eine bei gew'iihnlicher Temperatur recht bestandige Verbindung.Von den homologen Dilactonen und Oxylactonsauren sind die dimethylirten Verbindungen co----0 CO-OH OH Fittig, Ueber Diluctone. seine eigenen Versuche ibn denselben hatten zeigen miissen, denn ein Titfirversuch ergab ihm, dass die Slum in ihrer wassrigen Losung sich wie eine einbasische LactonsLure verhielt, aber trotzdem konnte er sich von seiner vorgefassten Meinung nicbt lossagen. A u w e r s und K a u f m a n n , welche die Titrirung von Z el i ns ky wiederholten, meinen, dass die Saure in festem Zustande auch als eine Oxylactonsaure + H,O aufgefasst werden konne, aber weil sie ,,den experimentellen Nachweis fur die Berechtigung dieser Annahme" nicht liefern konnten, behalten auch sie den Namen und die Formel dcr Dimethyldioxyglutarsaure bei ". Z e l i n s k y hat auch bereits beobachtet, dass bei der Destillation der Oxylactonslure neben dem Dilacton ein o1formiger Kbrper auftritt, aber er hat diesen nicht isolirt, sondern durch eine porbse Thonplatte entfernt. Wir haben auch diesen Korper niiher untersucht und gefunden, dass er ein ungeslttigtes Lacton, a -M e t h y l p e n t e n l a c t o n ist, welches aus der Dimethylpentoxylactonsiiure durch Abspaltung von Kohlensaure und Wasser entsteht : CO-OH OH I Da das Dilacton obne Verlnderung destillirbar ist, kann das ungesattigte Lacton nicht aus diesem durch weitere Zer-CH,-CO-CH,-CH-CO-OH. 6, a. a. 0.3246. 9 Dieee Annalen 206, 320. Durch die scliiinen Arbeiten von Kolbe, F r a n k l a n d W u r t z sind wir niit einer Gruppe von Kohlenwsererstoffen bekannt geworden, deren niihcres Studium debhalb von besonders hohem lnteresse sein mufs, weil sie einerseits, wenn man nur ihre Bildung berucksichtigt, als die Radicale von Alkoholen erscheinen, andererseits aber durch ihr chemisches Verhalten wiederum deutlich zeigen, dafs sie nicht die wirklichen isolirten Radicale sind. Alle Versuche, RUB ihnen die Alkohole, aus denen sie entstanden waren, oder Derivste dieser zu regeneriren, scheiterten. Bis in die neuesto Zeit sind diese Kohlenwasserstoffe wenig untersucht worden, wovon der Grund wohl darin liegen mag, d a b bis vor Knrzem nur die zur Gruppe der Fettkbrper gehbrenden Verbindungen dieser Art dargestellt waren und diese der Emwirknng chemischer Agentien grofsen Widerstand entgegensetzten. Es folgt hieraus, daB eine wirkliche Verschiedenheit zwischen der Isound Parabronimaleinsiiure nicht vorhanden sein kann, dafs vielrnehr die von K e k u 1 B zuerst dargestellte Saure nicht vollstiindig rein war und wahrscheinlich, wie die von mir auf die gleiche Weise bereitete Saure, noch etwas unzersetzte Isodibrombernstt?insaure enthielt. Darauf deutet auch der von Kekuik zu hoch gefundene Brorngelialt. Uebrigens ist auch die Bildungsweise der Isound Parabrommaleinsluren die gleiche, dean man weifs aus den Versuchen YOR F r a n c h i n i o n t *) und B o u r g o i n +*), dafs bei der Einwirkung von Brom auf Beriisteinsaure bei Gegenwart von Wasser auch eine gewisse Menge von Isodihroinberrisleinsaure entsteht und diese mufs sich unter den obwaltenden Verhaltnisseir noth wendig, wenigs&ens theilwaise, weiter aersetzen. Es existiren dernnach nur zwei isomere Siiuren C4H3Br0*.
