RESUMO: A busca por uma produção cada vez maior e melhor faz com que ocorra o uso de determinados agroquímicos, por vezes, de forma incorreta ou indiscriminada. Este trabalho é uma pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa, utilizando o método indutivo de análise do problema, e teve por objetivo avaliar os efeitos do uso do ácido 2,3-clorofenoxipropionico (Fruitone ® ) nos frutos do abacaxi, no município de Conceição do Araguaia, Estado do Pará. O estudo foi realizado por meio de pesquisas bibliográficas, visitas de campo para coleta de informações através de questionários, além da avaliação de frutos produzidos sob dois tratamentos diferentes. Ao término da pesquisa, verificou-se que o produto provocou alterações significativas sobre o peso do fruto, mas não ao ponto de mudá-lo de categoria de comercialização, o que fez com que o produtor não tivesse retorno financeiro, apesar do aumento do custo de produção.
