ResumoO objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar qualidade de vida (q.v.) em adultos com deficiência visual (d.v.). Foram entrevistadas 168 pessoas (18 a 59 anos). Para a coleta de dados foi utilizada uma entrevista semiestruturada. A percepção de q.v. apresentou uma tendência quando analisada sob o período de incidência da deficiência. Quanto mais tarde as pessoas adquiriram a d.v., menor foi sua percepção positiva com relação à q.v. As mulheres jovens, sem companheiros, com nove anos ou mais de estudo, que trabalham, foram as que apresentaram melhor percepção de q.v. entre os adultos com d.v. Deve-se pensar em estratégias de promoção para saúde, com viés de melhorias na q.v. dos adultos que apresentaram uma prevalência maior para a percepção negativa. Palavras chave: Qualidade de vida. Estilo de vida. ________________________________________________________________________ IntroduçãoDesde a década de 1960 a expressão qualidade de vida tem recebido atenção crescente, passando de retórica de políticos em campanha para tema de pesquisa e referência para formulação de políticas públicas.Por ser um tema relevante e conceitualmente multidisciplinar, a qualidade de vida das pessoas e de nações tem sido objeto de estudo de inúmeras áreas, incluindo a Sociologia, a Educação, a Saúde Pública e a Educação Física (GILL; FEINSTEIN, 1994;FLECK et al., 1999;NAHAS, 2010).Seidl e Zannon ( 2004) enfatizaram que, na área da saúde, o interesse pelo conceito de qualidade de vida é relativamente recente e decorre, em parte, dos novos paradigmas que têm influenciado as políticas e as práticas do setor nas últimas décadas.Não há um consenso sobre a definição de qualidade de vida. Entretanto, admite-se que há múltiplos fatores determinantes dessa condição humana, assim como a influência de diversos domínios, tais como: o meio ambiente, recursos econômicos, relacionamentos, atenção à saúde, condições de trabalho e oportunidades de lazer. Dessa forma, diversos fatores podem estar associados ao constructo qualidade de vida, sendo extremamente complexa a tarefa de medi-la. Dantas, Sawada e Malerbo (2003) corroboraram a ideia de
IntroduçãoA deficiência visual é uma limitação sensorial que poder compro meter o desenvolvimento motor, afetivo, social e cognitivo de uma pessoa (BUENO; RESA, 1995). Esta falta de visão pode dificul tar a compreensão e interiorização do esquema corporal, pela dificul dade de assumir modelos de referência e de estimulação motora (MOSQUERA 2000). A dificuldade em criar uma imagem corporal varia de acordo com o seu grau de deficiência e sua história de vida. Além disso, pode acarretar alguns problemas para atividades simples em sua vida diária, assim como em sua orientação e mobilidade. Para o deslocamento com segurança e eficiência, conhecimentos da posi ção, da relação ao espaço e o conhecimento corporal são fundamentais Resumo O presente estudo é caracterizado como descritivoexploratório e teve como objeti vo geral verificar a relação entre a prática do goalball e a orientação e mobilidade das pessoas com deficiência visual. Foram aplicados 79 questionários com os atle tas de goalball participantes da Copa Brasil de Goalball, no ano de 2007. A contri buição do goalball na orientação e mobilidade, sob a perspectiva dos atletas, foi positiva, sendo de suma importância para o desenvolvimento motor e também para a reabilitação da pessoa com deficiência visual, pois desenvolve percepções sensó riomotoras como audição e tato, além de aguçar a noção espacial e aumentar os níveis de concentração.
Objetivo: Verificar os fatores determinantes para a prática de atividade física regular no lazer em adultos com deficiência visual da Grande Florianópolis. Método: Foi realizada uma entrevista pré-estruturada e validada com 168 adultos com deficiência visual, membros da Associação Catarinense para Integração dos Cegos. Resultados: 44% estão na faixa recomendável para o IMC e 30% são considerados ativos atualmente, diferentemente destes indivíduos na infância, quando 63% eram considerados ativos. Nas análises de razão de chances, encontrou-se que aqueles que apresentavam comportamento ativo na infância possuem menores chances de serem ativos na vida adulta e aqueles que possuem ensino superior completo ou pós-graduação e foram moderadamente ativos na infância possuem mais chances de serem ativos do que os demais adultos com deficiência visual. Conclusão: Estes resultados mostram o aumento significativo de sedentarismo, sobrepeso e obesidade neste segmento populacional, aumentando ainda mais as chances de desenvolverem doenças crônicas não transmissíveis.
