O Dossiê Artífices da correspondência, na Revista do Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros, pretende apresentar artigos representativos das diversas visadas teóricas, metodológicas e hermenêuticas na pesquisa devotada à prática da edição de correspondência e de suas possibilidades de interpretação em clave crítica.
Em 1946, Antonio Candido divulga, na Revista do Arquivo Municipal de São Paulo, “Mário Andrade”, homenagem ao escritor falecido em 25 de fevereiro de 1945. O crítico literário avalia a importância das cartas do criador de Macunaíma: “a sua correspondência encherá volumes e será porventura o maior monumento do gênero em língua portuguesa: terá devotos fervorosos e apenas ela permitirá uma vista completa da sua obra e do seu espírito”.
Em O cartão-postal, Derrida destaca, em um dos “Envios”, a reconfiguração do sujeito no instante em que se remete/inscreve ao/no outro, em uma operação não necessariamente intercambiável, mas que é, com o perdão deste arriscado vocábulo-anátema, impossível evitar: “quando eu lhe escrevo você continua, você transfigura tudo (a transmutação vem de trás das palavras, ela opera em silêncio [...])”.
Rodrigo Jorge Ribeiro Neves assinala que o segundo subtítulo do livro de Mário Magalhães – “o ano em que o Brasil flertou com o apocalipse” – anuncia a disposição de fazer a síntese de um dos períodos mais desoladores da recente história brasileira, entrelaçando literatura e jornalismo, combinando ensaio, crônica, reportagem e diário íntimo, para capturar “a quente” os eventos terríveis que vão do assassinato brutal da deputada Marielle Franco à máquina de fake news que substanciou a constituição do bolsonarismo.
