Este artigo objetiva investigar elementos que caracterizam relações com a matemática, apontados por pesquisadores de produções stricto sensu desenvolvidas a partir do aporte teórico da relação com o saber. Para tanto, segue uma abordagem qualitativa orientada por princípios da análise de conteúdo. A produção de dados envolve a análise de trabalhos stricto sensu identificados por intermédio de um mapeamento que compõe um panorama nacional em três repositórios: REPERES, BDTD e Catálogo da Capes, além de três entrevistas e 13 questionários, respondidos por autores e/ou orientadores de algumas dessas de dissertações e teses. A sistematização dos dados é composta por cinco categorias constituídas a posteriori, a saber: correntes filosóficas; conhecimentos científicos e escolares; aspectos interdisciplinares; aspectos socioculturais e práticas sociais. Entre os resultados, observa-se que todos os sujeitos consideram a matemática como uma criação humana, destacando, principalmente, influências no desenvolvimento da sociedade decorrentes de conhecimentos construídos por diferentes grupos sociais. No que tange às correntes filosóficas logicismo, formalismo e intuicionismo, constata-se que o logicismo obteve maior destaque, por meio da caracterização da natureza e de estruturas matemáticas. Também se identificam entendimentos referentes a conhecimentos matemáticos escolares e científicos, mas tal denominação possui um potencial mais relevante do ponto de vista didático do que conceitual. Quanto à linguagem matemática, observam-se incidências vinculadas ao formalismo, aspectos interdisciplinares, socioculturais, bem como na matemática escolar e científica. Além disso, destaca-se que a perspectiva humanista atrelada a práticas sociais e aspectos socioculturais são as relações estabelecidas com maior frequência.
Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar questões de Matemática em provas de seleção para ingresso no Ensino Médio do Colégio Politécnico da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), no período de 2015 a 2020, conforme os registros de representação semiótica e os princípios da abordagem qualitativa, de cunho bibliográfico, seguindo os pressupostos da Análise de Conteúdo. Para tanto, consideram-se três categorias de análise: Conceitos/conteúdos envolvidos, Contextualização e Registros de representação semiótica mobilizados e transformações de tratamento e conversão. Dentre os resultados identifica-se que os conceitos de aritmética e álgebra, e também área de figuras planas são os mais abordados; constata-se que a maioria das questões não contém contextualização, aquelas que apresentam, estão relacionadas, de modo mais expressivo, com as práticas sociais, mas também, com a própria matemática, com a história ou com outras disciplinas. Além disso, observa-se uma variedade de registros de representação que precisam ser mobilizados na resolução das questões e que a maioria necessita de transformações cognitivas de conversão para sua resolução.
Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar e analisar atividades didáticas desenvolvidas no Ensino Médio que podem envolver tomada de decisão em situações econômico-financeiras relacionadas a séries periódicas uniformes. Perspectivas relacionadas à Educação Financeira, Educação Financeira Escolar e Educação Matemática Crítica forneceram sustentação teórica ao estudo. Por tratar-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, em que foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico a partir do Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Capes, a produção de dados também considerou princípios da análise de conteúdo. Nessa plataforma foi possível identificar 333 produções de mestrado ou doutorado, tendo como palavra-chave “Educação Financeira”. Após restringir os dados, foram selecionadas seis atividades didáticas de pesquisas realizadas na modalidade profissional e que desenvolveram essas questões com estudantes do Ensino Médio. Para a análise das atividades foram sistematizados três descritores, a partir dos estudos de Muniz (2016) e Rocha (2017): Interpretação do Contexto (D1), Tomada de Decisão (D2) e Argumento na Tomada de Decisão (D3). Pelas atividades consideradas, pode-se destacar que as pesquisas permitiram que seus participantes refletissem sobre situações cotidianas (identificação de D1 em cinco atividades), porém as questões não admitiram a tomada de decisão a partir dos três argumentos considerados: sociocultural (SC), econômico-financeiro (E-F) e comportamental (C). Para tanto, propõe-se que o estudo de progressões geométricas, fortemente relacionado a séries periódicas uniformes, seja realizado pautado na Educação Financeira e na Educação Matemática Crítica, ainda no Ensino Médio.
Este artigo objetiva apresentar uma cronologia de fatos referentes a aspectos estruturais e humanos do Instituto Estadual de Educação Olavo Bilac (IEEOB) de Santa Maria, no período de 1901 a 2020, a partir de um inventário que considera estudos anteriores. Para tanto, segue os princípios da História Cultural e toma como fontes: livros, trabalhos stricto sensu e documentos escolares localizados nos acervos do IEEOB. A análise das fontes permite identificar que o IEEOB foi a primeira escola estadual de Santa Maria e a primeira a ofertar Curso Complementar no interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Em 1938 se estabeleceu entre as mais altas estruturas prediais da cidade e atualmente dois de seus prédios são Patrimônio Histórico do Estado. Ao longo de 119 anos assumiu nove denominações e nesse período passou por processos de expansão e retração em relação ao número de matrículas, tendo seu auge em 1979, com 3011 alunos.
